I was born in Plainview New York, Long Island. My first memories were at age 3 (you don’t want to know what they were either.) I moved to Hollywood, Florida at the age of 5. I went to private Catholic school for 7 years and then switched to public school for 7th and 8th grade. I still finished the religious side by spending 2 years studying to get my Confirmation. My religious side has since been abandoned since being introduced to many other religions and seeing more to the world than just Catholicism.

In Florida for the next 20 years of my life, I learned how to sweat. With the advent of this new body condition from living in the south, I noticed a curious habit of Floridians…they kept dropping on the floor. Here as a child I thought it was just some “Florida” thing, later as I grew up, I learned it to be a condition called “heat exhaustion.” Needless to say, I did not like the climate to much.

Most of my life and career has consisted of electronics which then later developed into computers. At age 7 I got my first computer and learned how to program things to make the computer play songs, display pictures, etc. At age 8 I designed my very first fully functional video game, inspired by the Disney movie, “TRON”. At age 11 I met my fathers’ friend Carl, who became my electronics mentor and I was able to use, sign wave generators, volt meters, and even oscilloscopes. By age 12 I had built my first radio and was able to talk to people all over Florida in morse code with dit’s and dah’s. So fascinated was I that my room quickly became a workshop with a bed in the middle, and it wasn’t long before I built another radio from scratch that could reach around the world. Lets just say my dad wasn’t thrilled with an antenna attached to the side of the house that was about 3 stories tall and, ohhh, about the square footage of the house! (Neighbors didn’t like of either after that) Any hooo, by age 13 I built my first HeNe laser, then by 14 I got back into the computer side. By 15, well…High school and GIRLS!!!! Don’t you remember hormones at that age? |
In college I got my Bachelor’s at the University of Florida in the college of Liberal Arts and Sciences in the school of Criminology and Law. I was quite active and joined the Criminology and Law Honor society and being as social as I am, was quickly voted in by members as the activities chair (The vote was close, 62 to 11) From then on I arranged every event down to the booze involved..woooo hoooo! I happened to love my life so much that I also joined the paintball club, and the sailing club as well. As much as I miss college and the mental and physical challenge that came with it, now its time to get a house (or three) and settle down to make babies with Cynthia. |
I don’t think I will ever lose my addiction to the next thrill. I have been sky diving several times, scuba diving many, skiing black diamonds on the slopes in Colorado, hiking with the bears and dears of the Appellation trail, and have gone 170 mph on 2 wheels…..I still crave more. I think for my next adventure I want to strap a snow board on, while skydiving out of a helicopter onto the white mountain caps of the Alps and pull the chute just in time to detach, and ride that mother all the way down. Tearing through trees and rock, going well over 50 mph and being white knuckled the whole way!!! (Can you picture it?? HUH, HUH, Can you feel it?? I know I can)…nah, never mind, to dangerous, I will just summit Everest instead.
